There are many benefits to blogging in the classroom. As a first grade teacher, I can use blogging in my classroom as a way for students to practice their writing and publishing skills through weekly journal entires. By using a blog, students will be able to read and comment respectfully back and forth about their journal entry. Parents could also have access to provide feedback to their student and communicate with them.
Throughout the year, I would encourage more blogging among students when completing group and individual research projects. Students could each work on specific parts of a project and by using a blog their information could be shared and accessible by all members of the team.
Blogging can be beneficial for our oldest students and even our youngest students.
